Multiplication Table 100x100 Chart

55 ° Puntata (01.08.2010): Happy New Year ... let us look back with the 2009 TOP 5!

A GOOD YEAR ALL, BAND OF CRIMINALS!
had a good end? I really hope so ...
I know that you enjoyed, that you go out to party, you're drunk, you danced for hours next to a dark presence known and you've finished the night bent over the side of a road (or laughing by alcohol ... you choose your favorite fine ...).
Anyway, good for you ... however it is over.
But now we leave, discarding the old washing machines from the balcony and put away the furniture in a different location to give the impression of renewal. We are all ready to be new, but to be the best we have to assess the situation on the year just ended and the best work that will bring back because they are the basis for a polished look in this 2010 its first stirrings.
A 2010 reunion, which opens with two bomb LITFIBA and Soundgarden. Apart from the, in my opinion, pathetic attempt by the pair-Pelù Renzulli retrieve that bit of credibility lost over the years dusting off their old name, the most intriguing is Instead of trying to Cornell retrace his steps after the scandalous "Scream" which has completely transformed into a superstar pop songs under the scrupulous production by Timbaland (who must be said, is a commercial genius turn into gold and also the mud pigs).
So a new year that promises to be exciting. But 2009 was not less. I have heard several good things in these 12 months, I have tried in recent weeks to make a selection of the best and I made the Top 5 most impressed me.

Here's to you, therefore, the 2009 NICHE TOP 5! (Subtitle: infamatemi well if you want!)

1st place

Antony and the Johnsons - "The Crying Light"

Diamanda Galás said of him: "Within that wonderful voice are all enclosed the emotions of the world "and never compliment was more perfect and spot on. To be clear, Antony Hegarty is a big man six feet tall and wide as many, very androgynous that just sits at the piano and began singing the stomach can break you in two. A voice that recalls the intensity of Nina Simone, the strength of the crooners and the swagger of rockers blacks overseas. The album is a real Travel intimacy of Antony, in his subconscious, in his deepest feelings and draws on the keys of his piano harmonies and sweet at the same time very powerful for its use poses immense expressive power. An album that triggers uncontrolled reactions in the listener to be carefully held in check so as not to be overwhelmed. Decades ... decades that he never felt anything like that. On his fourth album after the equally beautiful "I'm A Bird Now" this artist has laid the groundwork for a future of an impressive brightness.

RECOMMENDED TRACKS: Another World; Epilepsy Is Dancing; Aeon

2 ° POST

MEW - "No More Stories Are Told Today, I'm Sorry They Washed Away. No More Stories, The World Is Grey, I'm Tired, Let's Wash Away"

With a title to say the least mileage, the Danes Mew in their fourth album achieve a perfect center. Relatively unknown outside the Scandinavian countries (Denmark are the best group in circulation) arrive in Europe with this ambitious and varied work. Halfway between the shoegaze of My Bloody Valentine, the Cocteau Twins-style dream pop and sophisticated indie penny of the new English frontier. Compelling pieces and melodies that come straight to the heart but never trivial (especially thanks to Silas Utke Graae Jorgensen , drummer of enormous talent and inventiveness crystalline). They are in my opinion the most pleasant surprise of the year and we only hope to see them in our country as soon as possible. A real shock. One of those groups to consume the cd!

RECOMMENDED TRACKS: Introducing Palace Players, New Terrain, Silas The Magic Car

3 ° PLACE

COLD CAVE - " Love Comes Close "

From Philadelphia to the rest of the world. One case record of the year. Thanks to the quick change of mood Wesley Eisold (a man who seems straight out of a dream Cure) The Cold Cave, after an endless string of EPs occur to test the long run as a group from the ideas clear: e-head, drumming rhythms and obsessive voice distorted by the effects of the same Eisold, Chita moving arm of well-maintained and arpeggiated synth. A group of vampires who have sucked the lessons of successful new wave 80's and have redesigned for 2000, giving it life and form entirely its own. Certainly a record that does not tire. Perhaps to avoid in particular situations (Do not ever hear it on a beach in broad daylight, that's for sure) but can not help but keep in mind. The thing that makes me most angry is that such work can go unnoticed at the expense, just to name one at random, the last of the Tokyo Hotel ... When will people learn?

RECOMMENDED TRACKS: Life Magazine, Love Comes Close

4th place

The Flaming Lips - "Embryonic"

First of all there is to do a round of applause to start. Wayne Coyne took courage. In a historic moment in music where he prefers the single hit and run, make a double album with 18 tracks and based on a genre (the psychedelic), which is by no means easy to understand, it deserves all the respect imaginable. In addition, trace the lines of a work as "Zaireeka" dated 1997 in which it asked the listener to listen to almost 4 discs (4!) Simultaneously seemed almost a blasphemy. And instead of Oklahoma boys surprised critics and audiences with an energetic and heartfelt work, focusing on experimentation TOOLS effects and games that come out literally from the stereo speakers. Catapulted into a cosmic environment and trovatisi to wander among the stars every now and then comes the tug that brings us back to the ground and throw them even higher. The sea views are not necessarily bring down and explain exactly, but certainly at the end of album, the ascoltore leave with the feeling that a new door has opened, although it is far from a work-toned cheerful. A good way to know, a good reason to love them even more.

RECOMMENDED TRACKS: The Sparrow Looks Up At The Machine, Powerless, The Last Stand Ego

5th place

PATRICK WOLF - "The Bachelor"

The young Patrick Wolf, English in London, born in 1983, surprising everyone with a mature work and effective combines the wonder of his training to be a classical musician (violinist and organist at an early age) to the new wave of the greats of the past. The remarkable propensity to sound more dark punctuated by an excellent rhythm section are even more disturbing by incursions of arches and classical instruments that they even give parts of the structure of his work that touch baroque and decadent that it can not hurt. Character certainly interesting, especially as visual impact, may have found the right alchemy to continue to ensure that we continue to talk about him. A minstrel dark as if a few are seen in recent years.

RECOMMENDED TRACKS: Hard Times, Vultures, The Casualty Count
