Kei Kagami is one of the many talented designers from Central Saint baked Martin School in London, and like all the best, he manages to surprise us with a concept of fashion all its own, unique and original! Kei, manages to combine the world of fashion accessory with architecture and structural work, creating some real pieces of design that you can take him any day ... or almost ...
From January 7, 2011, the famous mega-store in London, Selfridges in Oxford Street, has a display dedicated to him like so many other rising stars of fashion ART, exhibiting his latest works at the London Fashion Week autumn / winter 2011.

In that his little exposure I got to see and learn more about the details of this art architect / designer-edge ... observe the use of innovative materials and the concept of recovery and the contextualization of shapes and structures belonging to the world of design.
The love of architecture stems from his early studies and his first job at one of the most popular Japanese architect, Kenzo Tange. Soon after, perhaps for luck or simply fate, comes to work in the court of succeeding John Galliano, the final approach to what is his true passion .... FASHION! Thanks to the sponsors of YKK, the company Japan's famous pearls zippers, Kagami creates real works of art, so much so that many of his clothes have been exhibited in several museums and galleries around the world.
In his works, and unusual objects are mixed to become fashion accessories. Feet of bed knobs of wardrobe, drawer wheels ... are transformed into handbags and heels for women's shoes. Her accessories, thus, become objects of design called " MUTATIONS DRESS .
KEI has decided to express themselves by combining different creative fields, and made it his own way of expression. In his shows dominate his architectural studies, and you can see from his clothes, scaffolding and materials used ... Many of the clothes have chains for bicycles, winding mechanisms, hooks and other metal components .... each material was chosen to give the right image that makes that song recognizable ... a leader KEI!

Apparently, apparel and accessories seem to matter, but apparently it's all created for the show of the parade ... in fact all of his pieces can be worn without the metal structures and reproducible for sale.

KEI for fashion is still a way to thrill his audience, a way to convey messages that have a cultural value! Kei does not want her fashion label as "commercial" but at the same time very happy if someone could make his head into something marketable and functional.
Thanks to the expressive potential of the field of fashion, Kei can try and create new images to be translated into his clothes, starting from different points inspiring as engineering, mechanics, science, literature .....
